FLOWERLAND MURAL

I had the amazing opportunity to work with Jamie Calkin, an Athens, Georgia based artist, as an intern for almost a year. While working with him I was able to help him with a gorgeous mural he painted on the side of the local flower shop "Flowerland" right off of Prince Street. It took many hot days to finish our painting but it is now one of my favorite murals I have seen. I was able to learn the way Jamie painted, which was very loosely and learn about the paint he used which is a water based acrylic. The paint gives a dripping affect and works much like watercolor, however I assure you it would be very hard to get off of that building.
